Jul 31, 2017 1-5 years. My Kenmore Elite HE5 Gas Dryer (model 110.97086601) stopped heating today. The drum still turns and the blower still blows, but it's just cold air. The gas is still available to the dryer. I checked on some of the other postings here and found Jake recommended checking the thermal fuse on a similar posting for model 110.76942501.

Aug 10, 2013 My HE4 Kenmore Elite ca. 2006 model 10085872400 would not heat. The Troubleshooting Instructions WERE LOCATED TAPED TO THE INSIDE OF THE FRONT LOWER PANEL!!! I just replaced the gas coils (279834) . and totally cleaned out the exhaust pipe and inside as far as lint goes. That seems to have helped. Jan 21, 2013 Well if the flame is there and the hi-limit is not opening up stopping the voltage to the coils. It could be the valve is faulty. Both coils on the valve need to open for it to maintain flame. The other possibilites are the gas line is not suppling enough gas to the valve to maintain the flame.
